A good defensive effort and a strong pitching performance by Josh Kalin and Gage Graham helped the 11U boys to a 14-3 win over Fort Calhoun. The offensive charge was led with RBI’s by Richards, Kalin, Graham, Nelson and Partusch.
Almost every girl got a hit in a 9-4 win. Hannah Rockwell and Sofi Johnson’s big bats produced home runs as the 10U girls move their record to 1-1 on the season.
The 10′s lost their season opener 5-2. The girls came out with great defense, holding them to three scoreless innings. Madison Nash’s pitching produced 8 strikeouts and only 4 hits. Kara White went 2 for 2 with a single and a triple. Hannah Rockwell and Sylvia Dierking also batted 1000.
The 8U softball girls win their first three games over three Gretna opponents.
Chilly bats and too many errors were the problems for the 12U’s as they lose to Wahoo 20-4.
The Platteview 14′s won 8-2 against Bennington. Jared Bartels, Wes Sears, and Ethan Steinhoff only gave up two hits. Steinhoff pitched 3 strong innings where he faced 10 batters and struck out 9. Drew Mann and Ethan Steinhoff each had two hits. The win extends the 14′s winning streak to 4. Another strong defensive performance for the Trojans only having one error.
Platteview 14′s kept their winning streak going with a 11-4 win at Arlington. Tanner Dietrich and Wes Sears combined on a 3 hitter and Wes also added 2 hits. Levi Houlton made a great grab in center field which he turned into a double play by getting the ball to Scott STringenz at second base. The Trojans only committed one error.
The Platteview 9′s had their best inning in the first giving up zero runs, Eliot Steinhoff struck out three. William Newstrom and Jacob Zimmerman each had a hit.
Platteview 9′s had their best game of the season but ultimately fell short to the Rangers 10-8. Jacob Zimmerman pitched two good innings and Eliot Steinhoff one inning allowing the fewest runs in a game this year.
The beginning of the 13U boys game looked like it was going to be a continued performance of the last two games, with Gage Jeffers pitching two very good innings. In the third inning the pitchers had a difficult time finding the strike zone, giving up 10 walks over the next two innings which was to much to overcome. With only five hits as a team for the day the 13U boys just could not muster up much offense to overcome the deficit.
